Managua jest stolicą i największym miastem Nikaragui. Liczy 1mln 200 tys. mieszkańców. Leży nad jeziorem Managua. Powstała z małej wioski. Od 1855r. pełni funkcję stolicy. Miasto zostało odbudowane po zniszczeniu podczas trzęsienia ziemi w 1936r.
